After receiving many requests for a comparison between these two cameras, I asked Fuji to lend them to me for a week’s holiday in Mexico. Here’s what I decided:
This video was recorded at The Excellence Playa Mujeres, which is just north of Cancun on a quiet and relatively secluded beach across from Isla Mujeres. This is our third time – we love it and highly recommend it. This trip was not sponsored.

Fuji X-E3
Fuji X-T20
I have reviewed both cameras:
The third camera on the trip was the a Fuji X-T2, which I used to record, using the Zhiyun Crane gimbal. Rob and Kim helped with shooting. Dual system audio using Sony ECM-44B lapel mics to a Tascam DR-70D. Screens recorded with an Atomos Shogun. Voice-over recorded with the Rode NT USB. Edited on a 5K iMac using Final Cut 10.4 More about my habits and tools.
For your guidance
The products reviewed are on loan, and returned after the review unless otherwise mentioned. I do not allow the manufacturers to review the video prior to posting.
I am not sponsored or compensated by any manufacturer, I have not accepted payment to review any product. I am not compensated for my reviews except through Google Adwords.
My relationship with Fuji: After reviewing and loving the X-T2, Fuji offered me an indefinite loan, with a couple of lenses. In exchange, I assist them with some video production services. I am not paid by Fuji.
The B&H links are affiliate links, I do receive a small commission – but please do not allow this to influence your purchase decision.
